I don't believe I have seen anything posted about the cutting-edge and immersive Battle Guide Virtual Tours. Very interesting concept especially since most of us have not been able to get out to the battlefields during the pandemic. They have three WW2 virtual tours coming up this month and next. Sunday 12th December - Cockleshell Heroes - Op Frankton - 1942 Sunday 9th January - Dambusters - Operation Chastise - 1943 Sunday 23rd January - Guadalcanal - Bloody Ridge - 1942 Here is link to the WW2 section of the website: Battle Guide Virtual Tours
It is based out of the UK and run by military historian Dan Hill. I received promotional email from them the other day listing their upcoming virtual battlefield tours which included the three Second World War ones I mentioned above (as well as some FWW ones). I've been a lurker on the forum for years, so I searched the forum to see if anyone had posted about this, they had not which I was surprised as this is one of the biggest SWW forums on the web (the virtual tours have been discussed on the Great War Forum), so I decided to start a thread sharing the info, and like threads about movies or books maybe people who have watched the tours can post their feedback for the benefit of the greater Second World War history community. The concept of Battle Guide Virtual Tours is very interesting and uses some cutting edge technology.
