Photo of my maternal grand father, William Robert Williams. He was born in Corris,Merioneth 1894.I have no info at all,my late mother did not know untill after his death in 1953,that he was ever in WW1,or may have seen service after the war.No service number/regiment, infact nothing for me to go on.

He married my grand mother,Grace Lillian Burchell,in Charlwood,Surrey,1928/9. During WW1 she worked in the shell filling factory in Horley, and sustained injuries to her face and neck due to an explosion(National Filling Factory No17 Holey, Surrey)

I have tried many different sites, but still getting nowhere.Arelation has suggested that his cape badge is the Manchester Regiment,as many lads from Merioneth were in that regiment. Where do I start so I can obtain his sevice record, as previously informed by very helpful forum members. :) :poppy:

My mistake, there may one match.

    Pte William Robert Williams,4206
age 22 ,residence 15 Grunfield Street?
    1915 Royal Army Medical Corp
it states he had previous service with the R.W.F.
It does not give his place of birth.

The cap badge on that photo - with no shadow of a doubt - is actually the King's (Liverpool) Regiment.
