Ha, too bad they didn't have an empty M1 clip. ( I know, wrong war) I saw ANOTHER duffus "expert" on TV last night say that many solders carried an empty M1 clip in their pockets that they could throw it down on the ground to make it 'ping'. Of course the foolish enemy would then stick his head up so that he could be potted. Will this myth ever die? Dave

Obviously,i forgot to explain that this film is not the ultimate on the ww1,just an illustration of a very old french joke,that i believed to be universal. Weapons are wrong,uniforms are wrong,trenches are wrong,all is wrong.
