Deacs Well i am from Cumbria.

Hi guys have been to Muncaster Castle tonight with the family to celebrate Halloween and they were doing ghost storys and other scary things a real good night, but one picture caught my eye on the screen of ghost pictures a one of a WW1 RAF picture in 1919 and a chap was in the picture who had died a few days earlier and was buried on the day of the photo. So was wondering what any of you thought about this type of thing.

Wooooooo....Spooky! I've always wanted to see a ghost but never have, i'm pretty sure they don't exist and there is probably an explanation for most 'sightings'. This picture for example...it was taken when photography technology wasn't exactly cutting edge so therefore it might have been a simple exposure problem or development error perhaps. It certainly looks good though and i hope it is a ghost and i hope they do exist.

Or maybe the photo is wrongly dated.

Jonathan Ball It's a way of life.

Maybe he came back because he didn't get a CWGC burial in 1919? That was a bit mean of them. ;)

Your right Jonathan there is only 1 Frederick Jackson of the RAF in the CWGC and he died in 1918 so something is fishy.

I showed my son the picture and he reckoned the bloke probably turned up wanting to know why his mates were having their photo taken when they should have been at his funeral if the caption is correct.;)
