Anyone know what a WORT course with the RASC (printed so not bad writing!) at Aldershot early WW2 was??

Can you post the rank and trade of the chap as it might help with context?

The context is a course photograph at 1 Training Battalion RASC Aldershot entitled No 16 WORT Course February 1948. Those pictured are 5 L/Cpl, 5 Cpl, 4 Sgt, 2 S/Sgt and 1 SSM , the man front and centre where the course instructor is usually to be found is one of the Cpls. They are dressed in BD, some, as would be expected in 1948, wearing medal ribbons, some not.

The question is what was it that RASC students on a WORT course were studying?

Fits the initials but haven't seen that vehicle designation before so perhaps........

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Later edit - the nomenclature doesn't appear in Trux's establishments for the RASC
