Kelly's Heroes is. Woof Woof ! Don't know why but I always remember the minefield part. Awful film but great when I was a kid.

What about some of the awful TV, " The Rat Patrol" and "Garrison's Gorillas", I remember them from the mid 1960's the "highlight" of a Thursday night when I was aged 8. Go stand in the corner! its a classic:p I agree. Kelly's Heroes did not purport to be historically accurate. More comedy than anything else and with some memorable characters. Loved Oddball and Crapgame. I'd even watch Hogan's Heroes ahead of some allegedly 'serious' films.
There's a thread over on ww2f with a similar theme, but limited to ww2 movies. It got a little hot and heavy causing the mods to step in and threaten action to cool everyone off. It made for some very entertaining and interesting reading.
Just to add to what I've already said if it wasn't for these brilliant 'Cheese' films I probably wouldn't have had an interest in WW2, moved out of London, joined the forces, served overseas, got divorced, go to Dunkirk, join here, get hooked on 1940 France. God dam those bastids for making shite films ! Ditto Andy, Watched them all as a lad and sorted the good from the bad later in life. Even watching Operation Burma, I found out later the true story. This movie is what made me look in the first place.

Sorry Stormbird but I have to admit to liking the movie even though it was not historically correct. We all know now but the real heroes of Telemark are forever etched in our brain. Without the movie...................?

Glad to see we are on the same wavelength! Yes it is! On your question about differences of opinion as the cause of the problems on the worst ww2 movie on ww2f, it wasn't the difference of opinion per se, but the difference of taste if you will. One Rogue went to bad-mouthing John Wayne in "The Sands of Iwo Jima" and it all went downhill from there. I'm sure you can imagine that.
