Most shooting games are just not real enough but are fun the question is model wargamming is properly better for you because if I play to much it is really hard to get to sleep i mean when i do model wargaming with friends I get a good night sleep and my eyes do not hurt. The thing I like about model wargaming is that you can recreate battles i have recreated the battle of Tunisia and the battle of Kursk just hardly ever do it but it is alote of fun.

I agree to much PC use hurts my eyes too. When I used to wargame it was creating the Armies that was most fun.Browsing the catalogues, waiting for the figures & vehicles to arrive in the post. Mammoth painting sessions. Seeing the figures, vehicles & scenery laid out.Making the vehicles is a good aid to recognition features, so you're learning whilst making.Researching the figures uniform details is also a learning process.I'd say model-wargaming is a far better activity that crashing out in front of a PC.

Would also agree - my vehicle recognition is good from having made so many kits over the years. And these days as a tabletop gamer you are spoilt for choice. I rarely get the time to game anymore, but still make kits and paint figures in the quiet (!) periods; my kids bought me the new Airfix Sherman Flail, which is excellent!

Time's the problem isn't it? Got a mate that's desperate for a load of us to get together and play with the tiny plastic tanks but these days it means a major operation to get people from different ends of the country in the same place, without kids, and not too drunk (so many times in the past it descended, into 'HG Wells Rules'.... firing matchsticks and igniting peoples precious models while they were out of the room....ignited a few of my own come to that...).
The point on vehicle recognition and modelling is good. Got to admit that while I always feel slightly shifty scraping away at tiny plastic tanks I have learnt a lot on their construction, suspension, relative size & shape etc. while doing it.
PC games are just so easy compared to 'proper' wargaming and as the AI gets better along with the variety of vehicles/units/scenarios available with minimum effort I'll no doubt continue to play them more often.

We also used to get a bit drunk playing "Laserburn" from TableTopGames.Beautifully painted figures would be crushed by a pair of pliers.

Comapny of Heros need i say more?

1 problem i think with Company of Heros is the fact you can only play as American or German. Hopefully if there is an expansion pack this will be remidied.
