Paul Fantastic, thanks. Its hard to believe that the young men in the photos would be in their 80s now, if they grew old at all. Take a look at no. 48 out of 111, in the British Military section. Supposed to be the tail end of a Lancaster . But the turret looks wrong, and the serial number starting with L suggests a much earlier a/c. Do you think it may be a Manchester? Many pictures of a Manchester show a third, central tail fin which this one lacks - but I believe the early ones did not have this feature (and so were impossible to control on one engine) Adrian
