Hi All, Just in case you didnt know there is a game called World of Tanks that is at "closed beta" stage. That means it is still in development but they want average punters like you and me to play it, break it, and tell them what went wrong. So far they have all German and Soviet tanks available and are working on Allied and other nations as we speak. There is at least good looking tanks, have you installed it?, what kind the game itself is? The place where I work has a single user developer license, so we can play any of the tanks without having to start with a tiny little thing and work up to a better tank. I am still waiting my turn with the license... It looks like a "fun" game and not a serious "sim". So you do not have to press lots of keys on your keyboard just to do something simple like starting the engine. It is like "Unreal Tournament" in Tanks. It is an internet based multiplayer so sometimes there are lots of folk online at the same time.

I've been playing it for just over a fortnight and have managed to get a Jagdpanzer IV, fully upgraded, next in my sights is a Jagdpanther. Like I said the fun is going through the upgrades to get better tanks, that way the battles are more even and fun than if everbody jumped straight into the IS7 or Maus e.g.
I looked at the web page and they said they would add British tanks later ?!? Bring on the Cromwells. I'd rather be found dead in Elton Johns bedroom than sitting in one of those Kraut wagons. Must remember to take those yellow tablets...
They say it may be going to "open beta" next month (basically anyone can download it) and will be releasing the British and American tanks too.
Never got around to playing tanks, other than in Italy in the closing stages of WW2. I'm sure I must have missed out somewhere ! Enjoy ! Ron
i am just waiting for my code, but i will give it a whirl. would be good if they did carriers too which could be crewed up driver,gunner, radio op .....that would be cool. Rich
I love this game. Cannot stop playing it. me too ,recently I heard a new game called World of Warplanes,they are same company.
