I am compiling a list of all personnel that served with RAF 166 Squadron. To date have approximately 2300 names.
While there is documentation on the airmen that served.
There is almost zero on the women that served in many roles at the squadron.
It is my hope that many of these women can be recognized at documented on the 166 Squadron web site.

Not my area of expertise, but I don't think that women were posted to flying squadrons during the war.

They most probably worked within units performing various roles (admin etc) but I think that they would have been on the posted strength of the station headquarters and moved between squadrons as required without their posting unit being changed.

Do I take it that you have a copy of "On Wings of War" by Jim Wright" ?
There are a few photos of women, without exception they are listed as being in the Radio Sections.
