Wolff Tanks?

An Ultra decrypt (KO 316 of 13 April) mentions that on 5 and 6 April Renault and Wolff tanks were ordered to come under command of 8. Flak-Division and report to Flak-Regiment 122(E) at Walsrode. ‘Wolff’ tanks are a mystery to me. As the Wolff munitions plant was at Bomlitz near Walsrode it is possible that in some way the decrypt confused the plant with a type of tank. Alternatively, as Harland and Wolff manufactured Matildas, Churchills and Centaurs it could be that they were captured British tanks. British accounts make reference to the ancient French tanks but no mention of 'Wolff' tanks. Any ideas?

You've given the month but not the year - when does this refer to?

The Germans mounted Flak on Wolff trucks and may also have done so on Renault. Renaults were certainly used to tow German AA guns

Sorry - the year was 1945. The Renault tanks were FT-17 and these are mentioned in British accounts.

The Germans also used the much later Renault R35s also mentioned in British accounts
