Having looked through the latest flyer from Pen & Sword, this book caught my attention:
    Without Traditions - 2 Para 1941-1945.jpg
The picture shows two soldiers, on closer inspection I recogised one of them as being Captain Priday, 2 Bn Ox & Bucks L.I. (2 I.C. of D company). You would of thought the publishers would of done their homework and put a soldier from 2 Para on the front cover.

However, I'm sure the book is an interesting read!

    52nd....
This is a reprint of the original which was self-published by Bob Peatling who sadly died a year or so ago....it is perhaps another problem with P&S....using photos that are not really relevant...the original hardback version didn't use this photo...I knew Bob ahd he told me he was livid when he heard what P&S wanted to put on the cover but was over ruled.....IMHO bit sketchy on Bruneval but otherwise worth getting and the hardback original not the P&S paperback reprint.....

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob in 2004 to which he signed a poster of No Surrender at Arnhem Without and my Arnhem 1944 I think that I might have in my collection a photo of Him as well.
But for the above book yes well worth the money and a good read too.

    Cheers

I picked up a remaindered copy of the paperback a couple of years ago. Just a couple of quid as I recall.
A useful book and a worthwhile read.
