Bradley quietly chuckled to himself after he had tricked both men into using the Chinese Finger trap.

Is that a camel's toe that Patton is hiding in his pants?

Despite their supposed desire for attention, Bradley saw that Monty and Patton were at ease in each other's company.

Bradley (thinks aghast): "Sheesh ... Siegfried Line reactivation or no, it's a bit much hanging your old feller out to dry like that in company !"

Patton: 'In 24 hours, I'll be throwing my troops across the Rhine.'

Monty: 'No need to throw them, George old boy, we'll lend you some Bailey bridges.'

    The Scene:

Outside the Beer Tent at "War & Peace" Show 2011

"Were you at 'War & Peace' last year?"

    "Yes....why?"

"Well, did you see that one sad bloke who could only afford to dress up as a Lieutenant? What on earth did he think he looked like?!"

Some great responses, but the one that made me laugh from a WW2 perspective was by member tmac :

Patton: 'In 24 hours, I'll be throwing my troops across the Rhine.'

Monty: 'No need to throw them, George old boy, we'll lend you some Bailey bridges.'

    So we have a winner!

tmac please contact me by PM with your address so I can send you a copy of the book.

Congratulations Tom. You are a worthy winner. :)

Even more appropriate is the fact that Tom's Father's Regiment, played an important part in helping to defend the bridges at Benouville on D-Day. He was also the first person to contact me a number of years ago, which helped kicked start my own research. A really great bloke.

    Regards - Rob
