Hello to all the members of the forum.

I am attempting to research the Civil Defence service of my G/Grandfather who was killed in a raid on Grove Road Leicester in November 1940. He appears in the Civilian Roll of Honour for Leicester, and I have been lucky enough to have been given some brief details of the incident in which he died, but I am keen to learn more. I have the memorial certificate issued by the government, and have seen his record on the CWGC web site. I have also successfully applied for his Defence Medal which was unclaimed.

Can any members give me any advice?

I assume ARP records were kept locally and not nationally.

    Thanks in advance.
