OK, having sex in a B&B just before coming down for a full English. Answer, someone called Sex. I said lateral, not filth! I meant lateral from Bacon.
I'm rolling on the floor laughing at the comparison a honor-filled airman with a pastry. Ya killing me! So a Danish pastry is part of the complete British breakfast? What is black pudding?
I'm rolling on the floor laughing at the comparison a honor-filled airman with a pastry. Ya killing me! So a Danish pastry is part of the complete British breakfast? What is black pudding? SD, wrong type of Danish. For the English breakfast, I was referring to Danish bacon. The term "Danish pastry" is, I think, an Americanism that is quite recent in Britain. However, I agree with you on the Black pudding - that and grilled tomatoes!! Yuk. But everything else sets one up nicely if one has a hangover.
BTW, I thought French toast was bread dipped in whisked egg and then fried - what we call eggy bread? Fried bread is literally bread deep fried until is golden and dripping with grease. Actually, everything in a full english breakfast should be dripping in grease or it's not worth the effort.
NEVERMIND, I looked it up! Yuck. I'll stick with grits. btw, we call fried bread French toast. Hey leave the black pudding alone. It is good stuff. Especially cold and uncooked straight out of the skin. French toast in Australian is dipped in egg and fried. Fried bread here is as Kyt has described. Very unfashionable these days.
Hey leave the black pudding alone Don't worry, I will. My skin is still crawling just thinking about eating it. It rates right up there with haggis, chitlins (chitterlings) and souse aka hog's head cheese. You're right about the fried bread. I just looked at the pic and it looked like French toast then briefly looked at how it is prepared. Here, French toast is bread soaked in eggs and cooked on a griddle. I'm not a big fan. I guess our countries share in the apparent need to fry EVERYTHING. I was raised in the Heart of Dixie (as you can tell by my info to the right) where frying has been raised to an art form, but I'm not a big fan of it.
