According to RAF Bomber Command Losses Vol,2 the loss details for the above aircraft, a Hampden, are as follows........ 8-9 September 1941 50 Squadron Hampden I AD854 VN- Op.Kassel Took off from Swinderby at 1950 hours. Crashed at 0350 hours between Woburn and Husborne Crawley 10 miles north west of Luton, Bedfordshire, after running out of fuel. The two survivors parachuted to safety. Crew. Sgt. F. Rowney + Sgt.
