In the 60s and up to the mid 70s or thereabouts Airfix Magazine covers used to carry a photo of a British industry product, like a loco, a JCB, some car, airplane, etc.

    Outrageous.

The mighty Deltic is a wonderful thing. How dare you sully it alongside a Marina.

I like the pictures but haven't a clue what is going on here. Help an American understand?

Someone has traduced a Deltic, that's what's really going on.

Looks more like a Class 37 or a Class 40 to me than a Deltic.

ah it is a Class 40 according to this chap.

By Dennis Flood on 2nd June 2015 This is a photograph of an English Electric Type 4 diesel locomotive - also known as a Class 40. This photograph was taken at Edge Hill Holding Sidings - situated on the site of the former Edge Hill Shed Coaling Stage and `Coal Hole`. - See more at: http://www.edgehillstation.co.uk/resources/british-rail/#sthash.QPuH1U2l.dpuf

    hold on a mo

My post was a general diesel type train i did not realise the Marina/Diesel train photos would be compared apples for apples .
I do not take any responsibility for Deltic non Deltic photos in the post or comparisons to the Morris Marina.
I believe my post has been taken over by the management team ,who are better trained and more anorakish than myself on matters of mechanical nuances
I believe the management has swung the lead and therefore shall withdraw my posting services ( on full pay) on this thread for the period of one day or until it suits me to re post.

Have you balloted the union membership for your withdrawl of posting ?
If not then that will be considered wildcat action & you will be taken down the conduct code & disciplined.
You will not be paid for any strike action you take part in.

Contrary to my last post about not posting on this thread I am now posting (but only in a limited capacity) I believe I am being harried by the said team and did not take any advice before taken my own action planned or otherwise.
If this action is taken as "Wildcat" then so be it
I shall also expect full pay whilst travelling to and from work as per latest EU ruling

"It was the bombs and bullets and sacrifice made by the likes of Diesel Electric locomotives & Baby-poo Brown Morris Marinas that brought Britain to the negotiating table."

    not forgetting
which brought Britain to its knees (actually easy to steer with your knees whilst eating a pasty due to the squareness)
