Well KF it will remain high on my list!

    It is not Fact!

    It is not Historical Fiction!

    It is pure Fiction.

    But it is well done!

Just to add, it is probably the best film ever made. Fact.

Far fetched but a good film to watch especially if you dismiss the parts of it which would have been beyond happening in any clandestine operation.

Wonderful scenes.Does anyone know the airfield which depicted the Luffewaffe airfield in the final scene?

The JU 52 starred again.I thought the pilot had a look of Group Captain Percy Pickard who led and was lost on the Amiens Goal raid.

Just to note. Ju 52 is a Lancaster in the book.

Any fool knows that it is of course 'Oberhausen Airfield' ! :D

( Actually, it was filmed at Flugplatz Aigen im Ennstal, Austria ).

Listening to the audio book at the mo, a nice way to relax in the bath (hmm, too much info?). Smith and Schaffer are almost saintly in the book as they drug Von Brauchitsch, Col Kramer, the Reichsmarshall and etc in the great hall. Where are the Mp40s and silenced pistols? The film is far more violent.

    Well done Gage.

One of my favourite war flicks. An MP-40 in each hand. Gee Clint is good.

I now know what Blu-ray is!

    Here endeth the lesson.

    Cheers

Great movie - but the book is even better. I read it in one sitting - couldn't put it down.

Clint only got 54? Does that include those who were blown up?

I watched it only a few weeks ago. Totally unrealistic but damn fun to watch.

It wasn't one of Eastwood's favorites. He called it "Where the Stuntmen Dared".

Couple of years back helped guide on a tour to the various sites concerned with the movie lots to see with 5 main filming sites and quite unchanged, in the castle the radio room is now a staff toilet!,am still hoping to find one of the orginal parkas made for the movie back in 1980 QMs at the Angel had one and sold as a run of the mill film prop, and saw one 20 years ago worn by a renactor ,various figures as to how many were made and quality.

Best watched on DVD as Blu-Ray shows many flaws in film quality. Need remastering.
