I was looking for war diaries of units and HQ in The National Archives in Kew.

    WO 170 should be

    here is the link
War Office: Central Mediterranean Forces, (British Element): War Diaries, Second World War | The National Archives

But this does not seem to include war diaries for most major units before before Jan 1944. The war diaries must have existed at some point because the CAB 44 series on Sicily refers to them.

I couldn't find them nor could the research desk at Kew. Does anyone know where they are listed?
