Two interesting ones coming up this week:

2100 Thu 2 Feb BBC4 Bullets, Boots and Bandages Pt 1/3
    2100 Sun 5 Feb BBC1 Bomber Boys

Thanks for the first one Idler I didnt know about it will have to catch up on iplayer.

Bomber Boys was a fab programme. It was really great for me because one of the veterans I know from 75 (NZ) Sqn was involved. I liked the balance of the programme. Of course the veterans, the Lancaster and the Dakotas were the real stars! :D

Watched 'Run Silent, Run Deep' last night.
Never seen it before. Not a bad flick at all. Clark Gable, Jack Warden, Burt Lancaster, Don Rickles and a host of old Hollywood faces.

I do wonder what might be newly revealed about Slapton Sands, I suspect most of us know a fair bit already but I will still record it.
8pm ITV1 Return to the Falklands looks to be a good one.

Will record thanks, was only talking about this to one of my customers a couple of days ago. Also of note is WW1 Topgun: Revealed, the following Tuesday at 8pm on ch 5 for you aircraft buffs out there, about a small band of engineers who turned the aeroplane into a weapon of war in 1914/18

was good wasn't it. That old boy of about 90+
who was the trainer, what a memory!

The only thing I would have liked would be to see
some current Royal Marines do an assault course
    in 1943 era kit :D

very good doc though, enjoyed it a lot

Hey - for anyone interested, a new series on Channel 5 War Hero In My Family starts Tuesday 1st May at 20.00.
    Series 1 - Episode 1
TV presenter Chris Tarrant and actress Lisa Faulkner go in search of their families' World War II heroes.
In this opening episode, presenter Chris Tarrant sets off an emotional journey to find out about his father Basil's role in the British army during World War II. He knows that Basil won the Military Cross, one of the highest honours a serving soldier can be awarded, but he has no idea what he did to deserve it - and, as the story unfolds, he struggles to come to terms with his father's heroics.
Meanwhile, actress Lisa Faulkner seeks out the story of her grandfather's involvement in the conflict, as a member of the RAF. 'Lelly', as she knew him, was her favourite grandfather, but he died when she was quite young. In the time that she knew him, Lisa never asked about his experiences, and now she wants to find out exactly what he did and the contribution he made to British history.
