Just watched some of the Timeteam Vampire dugout program , my Mrs actually watched all of it whilst I was at work.
Nice to see Iain on there, lurking in the backgrouund, I shared a hotel room in Italy with him back in May.
That is my Top-10 Tenuous link to that program. :D

I've enjoyed both programs very much.

As you say Adam, the Time Team have had to follow a more specialist team because of the dangerous nature of the project. Nice to see a different format and different people involved. Must be great to be personally involved in something like that.

Drew, I agree with your comments about Ian Hislop. I've particularly enjoyed the 6 programs he has presented to date in the Not Forgotten series.

They said on the ITV news tonight that there are 3 British survivors left (one Army, one Navy and One AirForce) from WW1. Simon Weston of the Falklands campaign presented a short piece on these Vets. Amazing guys for their age.

Does anyone know how to save that program so Paul can see it?
Can anyone put Paul's bit on You Tube maybe?
    Cheers if you can.

The thing that I find fascinating about the celebrity based programmes is that they never seem to have any problem finding WW1 Service Records. Phil Tufnell said, "I sent off for his records". If only it was that easy. I am going to the National Archive this week armed with deatils of a few relatives of some people at work, knowing that I am going to find the day frustrating because all the records will not be there. How many celebs could not be used because of this I wonder.

Nice to see the Time Team last night. I was on a walking tour with Iain as a guide in September and he gave us the heads up about the show. Like Paul he is getting a lot of airtime this week - he was on several news bulletins over the week in his Tour Guide capacity.

Thought I would tell you about this programme I have just stumbled across.

3 part 1 hour long documentary that has been put together brilliantly !

They use a combination of interviews with the vets, footage from the 1969 film, original footage, computer graphics, re enactors, life size replicas etc etc etc.

This really is a great programme put together superbly in my opinion.

I would defo put this on your viewing list !

    Cheers

A lot of the people interviewed have some of their accounts published in 'Forgotten Voices- The Battle of Britain'

Here's a link to the TV Channel:
THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN: Episode 3 - showing on The History Channel

NOTE: I will fully understand if Moderators wish to have this next bit deleted.

If you want to download and SAVE shows from iplayer, go here for details:
    po-ru.com: iPlayer Downloader
We are talking about having a programme saved forever,
roughly about 222MB filesize for an hour and in .mov format.

    Very simple application.
Apologies if this info is against forum policies.
    Dont ban me!

I hear tell the Antiques Roadshow on in 10 minutes will contain their first £1000000 valuation.

Nothing to do with WW2 (probably), but on the TV today anyway .
