Have you found some information to suggest that he was Reconnaissance Corps? The badge in your other post wasn't Recce but that does not necessarily mean anything as soldiers often transferred between different units - that is why we always suggest getting their service records which will reveal all. It will ensure that you search the correct person. Have you requested them?
According to the above J Bowling had service number 3392073 which would make his original regiment East Lancashire Regiment 3377001 - 3433000 BUT service records will confirm or deny this - patience is a virtue TD
