Me grandfathes records show him "Admitted CRS Bieldside" Nov 25 1941and" discharged CRS", Three days later on the 28th . Beildside is near Aberdeen and we can tie that back to him being with the 51st Highland Division at the time , but any ideas what CRS stands for? I can find no record of this abbreviation.

CRS = Casualty Reception Station, I believe but I don't know what its precise role was.

another name for it was CCS ( Casualty Clearing Station) a smaller type hospital where casualties were taken and Triaged and if they could be treated -

they were and sent back to unit ( RTU) if not - they were sent on to a General Hospital

    Cheers
