    Best battles? NO
    Defining battles? YES

There can be no best battles. Remember, people died.

PFFT! justa bunch of planes flying over a city!:mad111: lol well i guess it was a pretty good fight...lots of anti air craft fire:wow:

IMO i think that Foy could have been one of the best battles... the 101st was in it (great all American troops)

I think when Panzerfaust says 'Battle of Berlin' he's referring to the last desperate battles as Berlin was reduced to shattered rubble by the Russians et.al. at the wars end rather than the air war, as for the 'battle of Foy' don't forget it was a relatively small engagement within the much larger 'Battle of the Bulge' campaign, (also called the Ardennes offensive) look 'em up and see what really happened, Band of Brothers doesn't give you anywhere near the full story (and don't forget that hundreds of people from both sides not much older than yourselves were maimed and killed in these battles, dying miles from home, loved ones, parents, sometimes totally alone, so always keep that in mind when you're saying any battle was the 'best').
Good luck chaps... 'Research and destroy'

I took it as "tongue in cheek" that it was the end of the "Third Reich".

The Most Defining Battles Of Ww2 Took Place At Moscow, Kursk And Stalingrad. Moreover, The Biggest Part Of Nazi Germany Military Forces Was Destroyed By Russians On The Eastern Front.

i think what each of us thinks is the most defining battle of WW2 depends on our own particular area of interest. I go for the BoB and the Bomber war, but that's because i follow the birds. Other chose Kursk because that was what turned the tide in the East. It's all down to personal preference.

I'll tell you what you can do - you can explain what reasons existed for your choice of Stalingrad. Why was it the best battle? Jingoism? I think not- what about the anti-American Rhetoric you have spouted - You claim we are influenced by Hollywood - I think you are influenced by something far sinister!

The point seems to have been Mr djugashvili that your posts are the blatant Jingoism. (Jingoism is good? hmmmm. patriotism maybe, not sure you really know what Jingoism means)
What else can you do other than repeating yourself? You're 9 posts in and all you've done is gone "BLAH!" you've chosen to repeat yourself with an obviously hard-bitten mildly retarded rhetoric, you haven't explained or justified yourself, or made any statement that invites discussion in any way. Most of the people on here fully appreciate Russias role in the war, there are a few deniers of their significance and your shouting (as Gotthard said before) doesn't help when arguing with them.
    Open your mind matey.
There's plenty of willingness to discuss the personal bees in your bonnet, Stalin, Great patriotic war, Even America as a 'Jonny come lately' could get some mileage if you didn't couch it in such stupid, insulting shouty terms.
So calm down and read some bleedin' posts on Russia, Stalingrad et al.(try the 'search' facility, it's not difficuilt for most people..., do you find it difficuilt actually checking out what people seem to think before shouting that they're wrong?)
My this is fun isn't it?
I do like a bit of pointless exercise in the morning.
