I quite like the second one.........It looks as though the cooks have thrown the spud peelings over the starboard side
Sorry Roy and Andy I had to go away unexpectedly for a week! Here are some 1950`s pictures of Swiftsure as per request. Have more if needed.
Hi Cally, Are you able to help with pictures of HMT Royal George, which I believ was sunk during WWII? Kind regards David
David, PC4Sale :: PC0913a.jpg picture by justrains - Photobucket I think this picture is for sale on Ebay. Cheers Andy
David - the best I can do at the moment is show a photograph of her identical sister ship the Royal Edward. I feel sure that I do have a picture of the Royal George somewhere - but I have picture/photo`s/postcards stored in a variety of different places so I am unable to put my hand on it at this precise moment. When I do I will post it here for you.
I continue to receive a trickle of requests for warship pictures - usually via Pm but not as many as I initially expected. Dont forget if you are looking for a picture of a particular warship whether RN or other let me know either here or by PM and I will try and sort it out for you. I have most warships covered. Anyway here are two fine pictures of the French Battleship Richelieu.

Do you find HQ photos of the Naval Base of Gibraltar and other of the Naval Base of Bari -in British hands-, both in wartime -WWII-, with the Fleet stationated?. Is will destine to our job on U-617 Thanks in advance From Spain Jan.
Sorry Jan I do not collect photographs of bases just warships. In any case, thanks for your interest, my friend. Jan.
Does anyone have a photograph of the Naval Auxillary Transport `Breconshire`circ 1941 they could post or point me in the direction of one on the web? Thank You Verrieres
As far as I can tell you have a bit of a problem with pictures of the auxiliary transport Breconshire unless you are after post WW2 examples as she was built in 1940 by Caledon Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. at Dundee with a tonnage of 9061grt, a length of 512ft 8in, a beam of 66ft 4in and a service speed of 18 knots. She was intended to be Blue Funnel's Telemachus (3) but in February 1941 was taken over by the Ministry of Transport and renamed Empire Activity. In January 1942, still unfinished, she was requisitioned by the Admiralty for conversion into an escort aircraft carrier and commissioned as HMS Activity on 15th September. With 15 aircraft she was initially used as a deck landing training ship and then, in 1943, as an escort for the North Atlantic and Russian convoys. In April 1944 whilst escorting a Russian convoy in company with escort carriers HMS Avenger and HMS Tracker her aircraft sank three U-boats. During 1945 she was used to ferry aircraft to the Pacific Fleet and later to carry aircraft spares/stores from Ceylon to the British Fleet. In December 1945 she was relegated to the surplus list and purchased by Glen Lines 'as seen' in May 1946. Reconverted to a Glenearn Class by Palmers at Hebburn-on-Tyne and renamed Breconshire she was deployed to maintain the Shire element on the Far East Conference and commenced operations in September 1947. On 20th April 1967 she sailed from Kobe en-route to Mihara where she was broken up. I do have many pictures of her as the carrier HMS Activity but I dont think that is what you are after... If you do just say the word!
Drew...Cally, as some know, I'm getting rid of books by the bagfull....I have a battered Ships of the Royal Navy, recognition hardback by Oscar Parkes. Sort of recogniton book, small diary type. Pics of all classes with info on the class and individual ship, sub etc...Any use to either of you as a freebie?

Thanks for that however I think we may be talking different ships the Breconshire I`m interested in is the Breconshire which was sunk at Marsaxlokk on a Malta convoy 27th March 1942 . I have been given a photograph but I think this is a latter `Breconshire` Sorry for the confusion I did`nt realise there were two in service at one time:sign_sorry: Verrieres
Fair enough - the picture above is in fact taken around 1960 of the Breconshire I mentioned above. I will see if I can locate a picture of the earlier one for you...

I figure about 18.00£ for a five day standard shipping*. Do you have Paypal? I would not mind paying the shipping. *Prices may vary depending on weight - I chose 1400grams or about 3 lbs for an estimate
