AC1 McKeown may have some further information as 210 Sqdn History states: In July 1940 the Squadron moved to Oban to fly patrols over the Adlantic and in April 1941 converted to Catalinas.

Seems that he would have to have been flying to be commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial, so perhaps someone can come up with a loss on that date?

Apologies for bumping up an old topic, but I am curious to see if anyone has any additional information on a name on the Waringstown War Memorial.

In the First World War panel is a James Campbell. I have been doing some research to find out more about him and also if there is some family connection.

My searches are bring up a blank, and any references I'm finding to the Waringstown Memorial his name is only listed with no information on rank, regiment, date of death etc.

Just wondering if anyone can help shed some light on this?

    Thanks in advance

There is indeed nothing additional about him on the Ulster war memorials site
    http://www.ulsterwarmemorials.net/html/waringstowm__county_down.html

Pure speculation but I wonder if you've already considered this man as a possibility, despite the common enough name...

Thanks for your quick reply - very useful indeed. I had noticed CSM James Campbell and was wondering if perhaps this was the same man as per the Waringstown Memorial. I was thinking I would investigate via the Parish records if they exist if this would confirm or deny this.

    Thanks again.

Thanks Bernard, there's a fair few who routinely go around photographing memorials for the benefit of others' research. (I just snapped the ones nearest to me, initially to help Gerry out with his NIH project.)
