Had a family day out up the M4 today. Mrs & daughter went shopping us boys went to a wargames show. Took lots of cash expecting to buy lots but in fact bought very little. Venue was packed solid & it was rather hot in there. Boys quite liked it & would have spent lots of my money for me but they settled on buying some old Airfix 1/32nd scale soldiers to learn how to paint. I bought some scenic items & only 1 figure from Parkfield Minitures. Here's some pics. ACW participation game. Space Vixens from Mars. 'Catch the pigeon' [with on Dick Dastardly & Muttly]. Setting up Battle of Cambrai. SouthEast Asia skirmish . Rather odd fantasy flying ships, USA v Japan game. I don't get it to be honest. War of the Roses game , I think maybe Bosworth. Ancients game. Can't remember what battle. Can't remember...another Ancients game. WW2 battle June '44 not far from Pegasus Bridge . Wild West shootout. Dr Who game. Normandy 44. Ancients. Liepzig 1813 in 54mm Some of the many competition games there.
Some great terrain pieces there to be seen, and some great unconventional ideas as in that Muttley etc game on the third pic
Ah just found out a bit more on that strange aerial warfare game. Arbuthnot's Aeronautical League of Gentlemen
Nice shots, mate. Shame I couldn't make it in the end. Good to see some games that actually look like wargames rather than dioramas.
Nice pics mate, I'd say you boys had a blast that day! Did you guys participate at all in any of the games?
Nice pics mate, I'd say you boys had a blast that day! Did you guys participate at all in any of the games? No not this time , although we were invited to join in lots , we declined as we wanted to look around the whole show first & then visit the trade stands. When I aksed the boys if they wanted to go back in the other hall to play a game there they opted to go home & play with their own stuff.
