blacksnake As old as I feel.

    Hello Diane,

How are things 'me dear' ?? Me and K. managed to get across to: Litherland (Ford) Roman Catholic Cemetery yesterday.

Although 'armed' with all your detailed Recce requests for 'Guardsmen' in 'Ford' ... We where disappointed to discover (on arrival) that the Local Council didn't deem it necessary to provide visitors with a cemetery plan & section guide ???????????

So began the methodical search ... manged to find three of your boys ....

    Guardsman...
    Francis Edward Ryan.

Alas, due to the lack of 'guidance' in "Section location" ... Time ran out.

We will return for: R. McMullen and John Fitzpatrick as soon as we can.

Happy to help, Chris & Kath.

    Diane,

Interesting the ones above have been cemented in place. Does anyone know if this is a regular occurance? I can't say I've ever noticed that before although I've seen some with bricks behind the stone to hold it straight.

    Cheers
    Andy

    Chris - and Kath,
Thanks very much for your time and effort. Sorry that you had so little guidance there.

Will be placing them up as soon as I can.

    Did you place the flowers?

    All the best,
    D

You may be interested to know.....I was told today that during the war there was a hospital next to this cemetery that received casualties from the forces. I can't remember the name for the life of me but it did begin with K and may start with 'Kill' something or other.

    Cheers

Very commendable of you to take photos of all the graves. If you haven't already considered this, may I suggest you upload them to a photobucket or flickr account?

Thanks I'd prefer an email - Will send you a PM with my address.
