Spidge, Bournemouth is now in the county of Dorset. The change in county borders was done back in the 1970's I believe, although I stand corrected.

52nd You are absolutely correct, Bournemouth is now in Dorset. Although as someone who was born in Bournemouth when it was Hampshire (yes I am that old!) I don't consider that just because the Government decided to move it I should consider it as anywhere else! (Hee Hee) Regards Andy

If anyone wants any help with any of the Portsmouth and surrounding area war graves I may be able to help... My great-uncle is a war grave burial in Kingston Cemetery, Leading Stoker Thomas Daly.
Hi James, I would appreciate a photo each of the two chaps above and a shot of the entrance to the cemetery please. I'm sure Phil is after Higgins too. Regards Andy
sure guys, let me see what I can do. Actually, I've just had a thought. There is a website called 'memorials in portsmouth' that has photos of most of the war graves in the city. Also has information about the cemeteries and plans, etc. The pics are quite low res though. Highland Road Cemetery also has some pretty interesting burials. I think I looked on there already James...Phil PM'd me the links and unfortunately the pictures were too small.
yeah, the pics are quite small unfortunately. you can hardly make out any of the writing on the headstones. I think its because - sadly - there are quite a few to fit onto each page
