There are 17 Aussie flyers from WW2 buried in 3 cemeteries in Cumberland. If you can take photographs of headstones or know somebody that can, please let me know.

Not quite sure what has happened to the posts as they have gone haywire. I have added the details again if anyone can assist.

    Spidge,

I'm visiting the in-laws in Carlisle this weekend. I'll try to get the Carlisle ones. Don't think that I'll get to Silloth or Haverigg this time.

    Spidge,

I've just checked out CWCG and found your chaps: (I can't post the details!)

However, there are nearly 300 identified casualties in this cemetery so I'm not making any promises; but I will try!

    Spidge,

Sorry mate; my wife had far more pressing matters for me to attend to this weekend! I will try to escape the next time I'm there!

    Hello

If you contact our research department, we should have the Haverigg ones on file and maybe the other ones you require.

    research@rafmillom.co.uk

I only have a group photo to hand

They are also named on the museum memorial window along with some local servicemen.

Thanks to the very helpful people at RAF Millom research who went out and photographed the five headstones at Haverigg for me.

They also provided details on how a couple of the Airmen died.

    Their efforts are greatly appreciated.

    Geoff,

I'll try to get to Silloth when I'm next down at the in-laws. Can't promise anything - it's a little bit out of the way. I'll see what I can do.

    Hi Roxy,

That would be great if you can!

Did you send both HI Res? The one for Knight arrived but not Astley?

    Cheers

Fantastic site. Thank you for the assistance.

    Cumberland is now completed.

Really good feeling when Counties are being completed.
