Ahem! I know I live in a pretty peripheral country, but at least there were more trees in that graveyard than there may possibly be in the entire Sudan Poor lads, so far away from home. At least their remains are looked after. Deforestation is a big problem in many parts of the world now. Sudan is possibly an example of the worst. Cheers Geoff
Verrieres, Well my 7 year old daughter and I walked the lines of headstones this afternoon in search for any DLI fallen. I can pretty much confirm that there is only one officer of DLI origin laid here in Khartoum. When he died he was RAF. He died in 1920. I have attached a link to a biography I found online and also a photo of his headstone.
