    Hello,
New to the forum so please forgive if I've posted in the wrong place or am not following recognised board etiquette.
I regularly follow the England cricket team on their various tours and, as a consequence, have been fortunate to spend lots of time in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Earlier in the year I spent a couple of months in India and Bangladesh and was lucky enough to visit the War Cemeteries in Chennai (Madras) and Chittagong. It was in the search for more information about the cemeteries that I came across this forum.
The reason I am posting is that I am travelling back to India and Bangladesh in late January 2011 ostensibly to watch the cricket World Cup but with an itinerary that provides plenty of opportunity for exploration. Therefore the weeks both preceding and during the tournament afford me a tremendous opportunity to visit a number of the cemeteries in India and Bangladesh.
If anybody requires photographs of specific graves in either India and/or Bangladesh it would be a great pleasure to endeavour to travel to those graves and photograph them.
Many thanks for taking the time to read my message and hope I can be of assistance in the near future.
    Regards,
    Phil

    Hello Phil,

Welcome to the forum. I have got to check first, but probably I may have a request for you.
OT: Looking forward to the World Cup. In particular to the match England vs. The Netherlands. Hopefully, although the chance is very little, we can repeat our surprising last year's victory.

    Good afternoon everyone,

Having spent the last week with Lonely Planet, the Indian railway timetable Trains at a Glance and the itinerary for the World Cup I would envisage I would be able to visit the most of the graves/cemeteries noted above.

At the present time, the only two sites that look difficult to reach are at IMPHAL and KOHIMA which, last time I travelled in India, required Government permits to visit the respective states they lie in. However, I will look further into this as this is a part of India I have always wanted to explore further.

So, at the present time, the two cemeteries in BANGLADESH and the cemeteries at DELHI, GUAHATI, RANCHI, CHENNAI/MADRAS and KIRKEE are all in my itinerary.

I look forward to hearing from you all regarding more specific details of what you require and just to remind you I envisage departing for India on approx 25th January 2011.

    Cheers,

    Phil

A number of months ago I made contact with an ex Indian Police Officer who was also an amateur historian. Despite living in Delhi, he offered to photograph the headstones that I wanted from as many of the Indian CWGC Cemeteries that he could whilst on his travels. Knowing the distance that most of them where from were he lived i dint chase him, or bother him, but true to form I got an email from Romesh over the weekend, with for of ABE's airborne headstones from Imphal, and the offer to email them all over a period of time. The files are hi res and the first one that I loked at was ober 6Mb in size, so Romesh is putting them on a didk and posting them too me. Ehen I get the disk, I will do copies for the peoples whose requests where on the list.
