There are 69 RAAF deaths recorded in Denmark. If anyone is able to take photos of these headstones or knows anybody that can, please let me know. Cheers Geoff These are the cemeteries: There are 19 cemeteries in Denmark.
Do you have any further information about where the cemeteries are located?. I might be of some assistance depending on the locations. Jakob

Hi Spidge, sorry for the delayed reply. Unfortunately I live quite far away from most of these cemeteries, where as most of them are located on the west coast of Jutland and some on the island of Fyn too. I will keep this in mind the next time I visit my relatives in Esbjerg, which should be sometime in next month and be more than happy to photograph the headstones located there.
Hi Kjaersgaard, Anytime in the next couple of years would be great. I think that is the minimum time that my project will be complete. Cheers Geoff
Hi again, Geoff. Do you have any more specific information regarding the individual RAAF pilots buried at the Fourfelt cemetery in Esbjerg? I shall be visiting Esbjerg next weekend. Jakob

Jakob Hi Jakob, This is the listing with the graves sorted somewhat numerically. Thank you in advance for those you can achieve. If you want I can send you the spreadsheet by email! Cheers Geoff
Hi Geoff, can you post the names of the lads at Randbol and Gording? I will be visiting Gording for sure this weekend, not too sure about Randbol though, but i'll try to make it. Jakob

Hi Geoff. I managed to visit a couple of the cemeteries on your list. Here goes: First off, Gording, Ross Ferrier Philp. I also found the place where he crashed and got a couple of photos there. The text on the stone at the crashsite says: "The pilot Ross Ferrier Philp lost his life in the air crash 7 October, 1944 and was dug down at this hedgerow. In 1945 buried on Gørding Churchyard".
Skarrild, W.J. Carrier. Various pictures from the cemetery and from the small museum next to the church. I assume George Victor Carrier was W.J.'s twinbrother?
Randbol, K.G. Tennent. Pictures from the cemetery and from the crashsite. Text on the headstone: "Remain faithful even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown that is life itself". Text on the stone at the crashsite: "Memorial to R.A.F. airmen who perished here 27.8.1944 K.G. Tennent, B. Smith, W.E. Frew, A.V. Howarth, A.S. Perkins. You lit for Denmark in deepest darkness a luminous red dawn".
Thank you Jakob, You have done a wonderful job with these. What a wonderful memorial to these brave young lads. The cemeteries are really marvellous. Cheers Geoff
