Hello, Hoping that some kind soul will be able to help me get a few photos from here or there. Here's the full list for Belgium. Thanks Diane =============== Completed: AUDERGHEM (OUDERGEM) COMMUNAL CEMETERY BRAINE-L'ALLEUD COMMUNAL CEMETERY BRUSSELS TOWN CEMETERY HEVERLEE WAR CEMETERY ST. STEVENS-WOLUWE COMMUNAL CEMETERY GEEL WAR CEMETERY NEERPELT COMMUNAL CEMETERY LEOPOLDSBURG WAR CEMETERY[/B]
Are you in a hurry ? I have promised to 'do' Heverlee for Spidge I've been there when I was researching Dyle Line May 1940 casualties but not to photograph. It is next to a school which was used as a hospital in 1944 / 1945 so is mostly later war or graves brought in from elsewhere. I visited Leopoldsburg a while ago for a forum member. It's not impossible that I'll go back that way some time but I don't have a pressing need to. It was during my pre-digital days and I posted the prints off so I don't think that I still have any pictures. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/war-cemeteries-war-memorial-research/5913-leopldsburg-cem-belgium.html
Hi Rich, Thanks for the offer, greatly appreciated. No, I am in no hurry for any of them. Relying totally on kindness of others and would be happy with a couple photos of headstones at a time, or even of general views. See this very much as a long-term project, and am quite prepared for them to come in dribs and drabs. Cheers, Diane
Diane, good morning. I can definitely get you the Brussels ones later this week (if it stops raining.....). Others possible as time permits. Doc
Diane, good morning. I can definitely get you the Brussels ones later this week (if it stops raining.....). Others possible as time permits. Doc Doc, Good Morning to you too and thank you for your kind offer. No rush on any of these, just as and when it can be managed. If you do get there would you please keep an eye open for any Unknown Irish Guards graves near the marked headstones? Regards, Diane
Doc/Rich Not wishing to hijack this thread but I have four Airborne chaps in Brussels, six at Leopoldsburg and two at Heverlee. If anyone could do any of these I would be eternally grateful. If you could PM me if you are able to do them and I will reply with their details! Regards Andy
Looks like I'll have to plan a 'rondrit' then. Perhaps there is a need for a forum sub-site to help co-ordinate these requests. Has Spidge got any at Leopoldsburg as well ?
Perhaps there is a need for a forum sub-site to help co-ordinate these requests. You've been wearing that tin-foil hat again Rich. We were discussing this in 'mod-land' only a couple of days ago, said I'd set it up but was mildly undecided as to whether the currently random status quo was somehow more 'interesting'. Shall I sort it out (a sub-forum) in the Memorials section? 'Requests for Grave Photographs' or somesuch. Work of moments and I can move a fair few threads in straight away. Cheers, Adam.
Diane and Andy.... Diane, I got Auderghem and Brussels for you today. Should be able to get Braine-l'Alleud and St. Stevens-Woluwe later this weekend. You will have to send me a postal address so I can send you a CD of the photos. Andy, Who do you need at Brussels? I looked carefully today and only found one airborne and one SAS. Nobody else looked like a para that I could figure out. Doc

Sounds like a good move to have them all in one basket instead of being fragmented.
Adam I think it would be a great idea for a seperate sub forum, all in one place and so much easier to find. Maybe people could say where they could cover as well, I have a few (well a lot really!) I need. Regards Andy
Doc You must have found Melot of the SAS, (Plot 10 Row 18 Grave 30) and being a complete twerp I now realise that I have got the other three (2 of whom were Polish Airborne) from a chap via the GWF I think. That will teach me to keep my records up to date! If you could get me a picture of him I would be grateful Regards Andy
Job done: http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/war-grave-photographs/ I'll get around to moving some threads in and putting a link on the portal this evening. In the meantime there's a virgin forum just waiting for requests and offers. Cheers, Adam.
OK, I have gotten you St Stevens Woluwe today, and will try for Braine-l'Alleud tomorrow, weather permitting. Then will see about sending to you. Doc
