Dave, have you seen the diary of Gnr Stocking on there? He visits the Somme battlefields in March 1940. Then in May he's up at Ypres .
Just seen it. All interesting stuff. My grandad's battery diary reads like a Holts tour (or a Leger tour (just in case Paul's reading :p) too. They spent some of October 1939 at Beaumont Hamel (I wonder where they stayed?) and then on to several other WW1 "names" around the Somme and the "forgotten front" before moving up into Belgium in 1940. (Then he goes and gets himself knocked near another WW1 battlefield on their return to France!) Dave.
