Welfare amenities were provided in all camps, (i.e.) cinemas, NAAFI Canteens, games, footballs, etc. Censorship rigorously enforced, guards posted at all exits and entrances and around camp boundaries.
Morale excellent, couldn’t have been better, all men fully ‘in the picture’. Several cases of both insufficient food and bad cooking reported from several camps, especially C.21.
Considered that troops were very glad to embark having been confined to camp for two periods, namely, FABIUS II and BIGOT NEPTUNE.
