ramacal I am trying to get as much info on my Uncles regiment (2nd Northamptonshire), he joined the Regiment in late 1941 and was killed in Minturno in January 1944, I was interested in you listing of the photos of the regiment in 1943 to see if there were any of him, but I cannot access the link that you refered to, has the link been changed?
Hi Paul44, The link was for the 1943 War diary for 2 Northants. If you have not seen this thread already, then you might find it of interest as there are some photographs in it too: http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/general/10471-can-anyone-help-me-2nd-battalion-northamptonshire-regiment.html If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. As you will see from the above thread, there are a couple of people here who really have a lot of useful information. Jules.
Apologies Paul44, I seem to have deleted the war diaries for 2nd Northants from Photobucket. I am uploading them again and will reinstate that link when it has completed. Regards - Rob
Paul44 Try the link in the 1st Post and they will be there again. The 2nd Battalion suffered 24 casualties in January 1944 according to Geoff's Wonderful Search Engine. Cheers - Rob
Paul44 - Here are the pages of the war diary relating to January 1944 when Michael Keogh died. Cheers - Rob Casualties for that day were 2 Officers and 91 Other Ranks. A very bad day.
