    Appendix ‘B’

    OPERATION ORDER No. 16

    S/34/44 ‘R’

    INFORMATION. Orders have been received for 11 Bulk Petrol Transport Company R.A.S.C.
    to proceed to Clacton-on-Sea.

    INTENTION
    . To move 11 Bulk Petrol Transport Company RASC from present location to new location, leaving Walton-on-Thames at 0830 hours on Thursday 3 Feb 44.

    METHOD. (1) All available stores and equipment will be loaded on load carrying vehicles on

    Wednesday 2 Feb 44. Load carrying vehicles will remain at Platoon billets during the night of Feb 2/3 under guard by Platoon arrangements.

    (2) All vehicles will have their fuel tanks full by 1800 hrs 2 Feb 44.

    (3) All R.D.I. personnel will report to Platoon Commanders as already detailed by

    C.S.M. at Platoon billets by 0700 hours and will assist in loading remainder of stores and kits.

    (4) Platoon Commanders will call the roll of all personnel under his command,

    including R.D.I. personnel and will report that all personnel are present and accounted for, to 2nd i/c Coy at Coy HQ by 0800 hours.

    (5) Platoons will form up as follows:- and be in position by 0815 hours.

    In ASHLEY RISE facing SIR RICHARDS BRIDGE, “B” Platoon followed by “A” Platoon, both in correct order of march (Appendix “A”).

    In SILVERDALE AVENUE facing Roundabout, “HQ” Platoon plus 3 x 3 ton lorries from 719 G.T. Coy RASC in correct order of march (Appendix “A”).

    In ASHLEY PARK ROAD facing Walton Station, “Workshops” Platoon plus 1 15cwt A.A. truck from H.Q. Platoon.

    The column will move off at 0830 hours in the following order:-

    “B” Platoon --- “HQ” Platoon --- “A” Platoon --- “Workshops”

    Route to Starting Point STATION AVENUE, turn right at Hersham Road 114/549846 and proceed to Starting Point at 114/559839 head of column arriving at 0845 hrs.

    “B” Platoon will supply BLUE Convoy Flags for their front vehicle.

    “Workshops” will supply GREEN Convoy Flag for their rear vehicle.

    (6) Convoy No.FEB/SE/028.

    Depart Starting Point Road Junction 114/559839 at 0845 hrs on 3 Feb 44 arriving at new location at 1700 hours.
