On a recent family holiday to Crete, I travelled to Souda Bay to visit The British and Commonwealth War Cemetary

A very humbling experience, there are many graves for Anzac soldiers as well as british troops - many aged 19 and 20

The cemetary is situated in a beautiful location at the head of the bay and the gardens are beautiful, lots of rose-beds, and trees, looked after by the locals

Has other fellow members visited any war cemetaries ?

Nice photos 51stHighland, thanks for posting them!

I believe the German war cemetary is not too far from Souda, however, the Germans are charged for its upkeep whilst the british are not !
