I am looking for a copy of the Base Shop Data manual for the Sherman M4A4 (Sherman V)

The Base Shop Data manual is an illustrated set of detailed instructions to strip down and rebuild a Sherman tank.

I would prefer an original publication, but failing that am also happy to have a copy - the data is most important... especially when trying to rebuild one!

    Many thanks

And, I would suggest you contact some of the Military museums....I know that Base Borden has a “HUGH” tank collection, and may have historical documentation (In order to rebuild equipment etc)

Address: 18 Waterloo Rd E, Borden, ON L0M 1C0, Canada
    Phone: +1 705-423-3531

And possibly many Armoured Corps regiments that operated these vehicle’s in WW2 may have documentation in their Libraries

Also, Chrysler Built some of these during WW2, I would suspect contacting them (as a Company that still exists) and they “may” have documentation in their archives and libraries

I have exhausted a lot of the usual suspects (Bovington and others) - hence asking here to see if anyone has one tucked away in a personal documentation collection... though have not tried the Borden library in Canada - so will ask them - thanks.

Versions of BSD exist for the M4A1 and M4A3 (I have a photocopy of the M4A3 and hopefully soon one of the M4A1), so I assume there may be the same for the M4A4... but who knows, maybe there wasn't.

These documents are around 400 pages each with detailed diagrams on every page... if you do AFV modelling for the Sherman, then they are the book to have on your shelf - if you can find a copy.

Any more suggestions - always welcome, it may well be something I have not considered.

    Cheers

    Tim
