... sold on auction for 4.5 million £. I never understood the mess a man can make of his life, luckily his brother was of better stuff.
Za I never understood the mess a man can make of his life, luckily his brother was of better stuff. Although I agree that he was a completely worthless individual, by abdicating, he was able to live a "life of Riley" for the rest of his days at the expense of the British taxpayer. I consider the present prices paid for these jewels are obscene. The first time these artifacts were sold at auction the proceeds at least went to charity. This time round ? Ron
It's me again ! Just noticed that the current topic comes under the Forum heading of "Pre-war" and so I thought I'd show something of real value that was certainly around pre-war Last Sunday I went to the birthday party of my eldest sister Esther, who just happens to be 97 years young. Also present was another sister, Gertie, a mere 94 years young. Wallis's jewelry ?.................. mere baubles ! Family ties? ................priceless ! Ron
Ron Your Sisters look fantastic. A belated Birthday greeting to Esther. Sure you are related to these lovely ladies. Could not agree more about your comment on family ties. Absolutely priceless. As for paying such an obscene amount, the person who did so is a Moron.
