I know I'm a bit late, but thank you Andy, These photographs are beautiful, and next year i hope to get to Dunkirk. I couldn't fit it in this year given all the things I want to do in two weeks in London, Dorset and Somerset, but you've given me a welcome sense of what it is like.

Walk towards the church from the high st and they are on the left below the war memorial fixed to the wall. If you get to the church you have gone too far.

Cassel is quite a hard place to find anything related to 1940 unless you've researched it well. All the obvious stuff is in this thread. Have you seen the Cresswell thread on his defence of Cassel in a pill box at the bottom of the hill?

I've just sat and read the whole thread as missed it first, second and third time around! Cracking reading about an area I'm still determined to find more about due to my great-grandfathers involvement in the BEF.

    Hi Drew
I've been reading and researching Dunkirk for the past six months in particular the delaying actions including Cassel. As you state it has been difficult to find information about what can be viewed today. That is until I read your thread which is an excellent resource and has helped me no end.

    Regards Doug.
