My late Grandmother (top right) was in the WRAF and much to my dismay I never actually quizzed her on her wartime role. Obviousley my first step would be to apply for her Service Records, but in the meantime, is it possible to gain any info from this picture of her in a group, which from the title looks to be Redcar 1943 and a "Course 18B". Long shot I know but is there a way of finding out what "course 18B" was etc etc.

Have you thought to contact - The official WAAF WRAF RAF(W) Association website or similar organisations/associations ??

    The link describes itself as

    WAAF WRAF RAF(W) ASSOCIATION

    TD

Forgot to add - sometimes the local history groups have answers to questions such as your so perhaps contact (if there is one) Redcar's local historians

I have an S.O book which belonged to my Grandmother which has Class No.3 and Course No.23 RAF Redcar written on the front. I'd love to find out more.
