Went to visit Brother-in-law and his family on Saturday. Sat in a near-by pub garden looking at this view. Lot of us are bemoaning Britain at the moment. Well it's still a green and pleasant land.
Nice one Owen; I sat in my garden in Kent in the sunshine this weekend. Lovely. The sky above once buzzed to the sound of Spits and Hurricanes; a long time ago now but one can hardly fail to stare up at the Kent sky and not think of the Finest Hour...
...Kats and I didn't see much of outside London, except on our rail trip to Bath, and I had an opportunity to point out the "Green and Pleasant Land" to her. It reminded her of New Zealand, another "Green and Pleasant Land."
If any of you get the chance, come to my part of the world. The wooded lanes of Cheshire and the green fields. These then rise up into the hills and valleys of Derbyshire, the open moors, the enclosed alleys with their beautiful villages and always a cracking pub. The large reservoirs and rivers everywhere. There is nothing like it in the world. I wish I could figure out how to post pictures on here so you could all see it. Just Google it for the tourist sites, and you'll see.
Great view Owen, hope the beer was a good. You should all come to Scotland, it needs no explanation...
