I am currently working on summary histories for the roughly 42 Companies of the Veterans Home Guard of Canada of the Canadian Active Service Force (CASF) that served during the war. I have been using a variety of sources such as the 1946 Army Central Registry, Movement Control, some Military District War Diaries, and any other War Diary that mentions these units.

Unfortunately at the moment I do not have access to the Company War Diaries. I am appealing to any members that may have these in their possession in one way or another to contact me. I would like clear up a number of moves.

These poor WWI vets were shuffled about Canada every few months from mostly internment camp to internment camp with an occasional month off to train. They probably spent more time on a train during the war than most of us spend in a lifetime.

I know these Diaries are at the Library and Archives of Canada, but I don't have immediate access. Please help if you can.
