Anyone play it? It's basically a German made stealth game that puts you in the shoes of Violette Summer (based on real life spy Violette Szabo) in German occupied France (I think).

At first when I heard about the game I was against it since from the previews it felt like it would be a "hey lets kill as many "Nazi" as we can, this time Germans can try".

A friend of mine tried it and he told me the exact opposite, when it comes to the soldiers themselves it takes a more "humane" approach. You can basically find letters, documents, etc about various soldiers that they may have sent or received from family back in Germany. Letters to loved ones telling them about their opinions of the war, how they loved it, hated it, etc. He said it never felt like it was a sympathizer game since it was pretty clear when it came to differentiating the good Germans from the bad, the Nazis from the Germans, etc. Apparently the game even mentions the Holocaust in a way through telegrams, documents, etc you find in various officer quarters.

The above aspect definitely peaked my interest, I'm hoping to pick it up soon. If what he says is true I definitely feel bad for doubting the Germans after seeing how they treat the wars in cinema, aka much better then "Hollywood".

Anyone else had a go with VA?

Just got word this morning that the developer (Replay Studios) shut down, they put a lot of money into this game and no one bought it! :(

I got a chance to play the game, it wasn't bad. It tried to give the Germans a human element which really makes the game harder on a emotional level. Some people you will be forced to kill but not want to because you overheard discussions, found letters from parents, etc that give them a innocent personality. Others you will see killing civilians, acting inhumane, etc, in other words, you can't wait to get your knife on them!

The rest of the game is ok, if you can pick it up for $40 I'd say buy it.

Completely forgot about thins game until it turned up in my Steam Recommends. It is supposedly base on Violette Szabo!!! which made my eyes raise when it first come. I won't be buying however cheap it is on Steam as I believe it is a bit of bad game.
