I found an interesting photo taken on LZ N during Operation Varsity on March 24th 1945. What type of gun do we see behind the Jeep? It this a US pack howitzer? It looks somehow different - any ideas?

    I think it is a 105 M3 light howitzer.

    Hi stolpi,

I think you hit the nail on the head! Probably it is not yet fully assembled. By the way - what's the tube behind the man's helmet? A recoilless anti-tank gun?
    Cheers!

Yes, could be a bazooka. Makes me wonder what the origin of the term is...

It stems from a brass musical instrument called Bazooka.

    See: Bazooka (instrument) - Wikipedia

and this it how it's sounds like:

    A hybride trombone/sliding trumpet?

Might also be a 4.2" mortar, my dad's weapon.

Yep, definitely a bazooka. Didn't see the flange in the B&W
