Does anyone by any chance have any photos of the engine bay / final-drive housing of a Valentine Archer or late Valentine. Alternately know the colours of the above? Cheers Kevin
hi kevin you need to speak with john pearson who owns a valentine dd tank and is an all round helpful guy and a bit of an expert on them or if you like i could ask him for you as he's normally on hmvf. i own several ww2 british tanks and in mine all the ancilleries have been olive drab and the engine black but i couldn't vouch for the engine colour on the valentine. rick ps. i really like the valentine, it was a belting little tank

On Pirbright ranges at Colony Gate we used to fire 66mm and 84mm TPTP at these targets. (Target Practice Tracer Projectile). Sometimes we would fill up old cans with used oil and a drop of petrol and place inside when hit the recruits jaws used to drop!
Hello Wills, Thanks for that sad photo when was it taken? Looks like a Valentine, Churchill and is that a Grant hull lurking in the background? Cheers Kevin
The photo is not mine, when I was last there I was a professional vandal. Shooting, but alas not with a camera. There is a site- Armour in Focus - Valentine Archer, with internal photographs. Also survivors in the IDF Museum . Still in location - just looked on Google Earth - Pirbright Ranges - 51.20.0.36N - 0.41.30.84W Several hulks here.
