I'm almost ready to restore my battle of kursk battlefields photo stories and found that I may use user galleries instead (or along with) of any third-party image sharing hostings but I am aware - is there any size limitations for such galleries?
The user Galleries can handle large image sizes Alex, the trouble is they have a limit to the number of images you can upload (can't remember the number but I'm not sure it would accomodate your Kursk pictures mate).

Adam, what's that? "Sorry but the gallery is closed for the forseeable future. hopefully in order to get it working properly" when I am clicking on Gallery link up the page.
The Gallery's a mess Alex. We're considering what to do with it and don't want anyone wasting their time uploading to it while we decide it's future. The problem is we now have the far handier user galleries and (as has been mentioned before) it's largely a jumble of uncaptioned random shots. It also needs a complete overhaul as it's never quite worked properly anyway. If we decide to keep it, and hopefully encourage people's personal shots with proper captions rather than generic WW2 images then there's quite a bit of tweaking that needs doing. Any opinions out there on the best use of the gallery? Start completely from scratch? Start from Scratch but pour all the general images into one big category so they're at least retained but don't eclipse member's pics? Ditch it completely and rely on one system (user galleries) ? ? As you can see, it's future is a bit up in the air.
Adam, I am not computer literate enough to understand the innermost secrets of a web site setup. Are you limited to one Gallery showing every aspect of WW2 or can it be departmentalised. ie Navy, Army, Airforce and General. Perhaps if this was possible it would help members, both posting and finding images. Regards Tom
Hmmmm, all options is between good and evil. Start from scratch - you could expect shouts "oh hell, where does everything gone!?", pour all images into one big category - not bad, users can still sort out their photos into new galleries, ditch completely - that will take amounts of time ). Think that the second option is most compromise.
