For those who don't know, in 1999 the US Holocaust Memorial Museum began a major project to produce an Encyclopedia series on the various aspects of the Holocaust with the first volume being published in 2009. It really is a project to end all projects on the subject matter and will eventually run to 7 volumes. Each volume is split in to two parts and the page count is around 1,400-1,700 for each two part volume.

Volume 1 Pt A & B is entitled ' Early Camps, Youth Camps, and Concentration Camps and Subcamps under the SS-Business Administration Main Office (WVHA)' while Volume 2 Pt A & B is entitled 'Ghettos in German-Occupied Eastern Europe'. Volume 3 Pt A & B are due for release this year and is entitled 'Camps and Ghettos under European Regimes Aligned with Nazi Germany'.

Each two part volume set sell for £124 (new) and upwards but the USHMM themselves are making the first two volumes (so 4 books in total) available for download as PDF's for absolutely nothing.

Just go to the link below, click on 'Download the PDF's' and fill in a small survey (just name, email, why you wish to download, company worked for/education authority & do you wish to receive emails from USHMM - for the 'why?' question I just put that I own the books and this will make it easier to search the topic) and once you submit that you are then redirected to a page where you can download all 4 parts for free. On the same page as the 'Download the PDF's' are the links to download each volumes contents & indexes - file size wise they are between 59-90Mb). Even if you have no intention of obtaining the future volumes don't miss this chance to obtain these books that will never be bettered on the topics they cover.

For reference sake, the four gray & blue books in this photo are Volumes 1 & 2 Pts A & B in physical form.
